Arched Drapery Hardware

August 21, 2018

Arched drapery hardware offers a creative opportunity and can be treated in a number of ways. In the photo above, Mark Schultz at Silk Mountain Creations created detailed templates and pre-planned every aspect of this design. As you can see, the results are stunning!

Medallions make a statement.

Curving the rod is only one way of dealing with arched windows. Medallions on tab posts create a dramatic presentation and are less expensive as well. This dreamy music room by Custom Elegance is a perfect example of this technique. Using the soft sheer is a genius touch.

Another stylish option combines shaped cornices with medallions. This example, designed by Susan Gailani of Gailani Designs, is another perfect way to treat an arched window. The use of Pyramid tab posts for side panels on the exterior of the cornice is so fun and imaginative! Check out the detail.

Architectural details rule.

Sometimes the arch is created by the architecture instead of the window itself. The arch in this treatment would not have quite the effect if the drapery did not mirror the curve of the alcove. This treatment adds softness to the room and frames the door perfectly. Well done!

Understated elegance.

Of course, some times simplicity and gentle curves are perfect for a space. This dining room, designed by Jane Ann Maxwell is elegant and understated. The creative use of simple tie back arms with a french pole is perfect for framing a focal point chandelier. The shaded area below the molding casts a soft light on the rest of the room.

No window? No problem.

What do you do with a windowless room? You create one with a mirror and luxe drapery panels! This great idea belongs to Tracie Bresnahan at Custom Creations. The dramatic detailing on these panels makes the whole treatment exceptional.

We enjoy sharing the creativity of our clients. We think they are the very best and we love bringing their designs to life!
