“Less is more” is a perfect way to describe today’s drapery design aesthetic. As shown above, French Poles are one of the best ways to create an elegant treatment while maintaining the small scale and simple drapery hardware profiles popular today. Silver banding separates the rich dark colors of the fabrics chosen for these striking panels designed by Drapery Design in Paoli, PA.

Minimalist

Clean and classic, linen panels are everywhere. The Elegant Window in Gilbert, Arizona created tall white panels with simple coal finish hardware. Cap style end caps are a perfect minimalist finial choice. The touches of black are great counterpoints for the subtle shades in the bedroom below.

Pattern and Texture

Color is optional but some of the most refreshing designs feature creative banding or interesting textures and patterns. We love this inviting bedroom that was featured on the DIY Channel Bargain Mansions  with Tamara Day series last year. Helser Brothers’ signature French Pole in our gorgeous Oyster Shell finish perfectly complements the neutral shades mixed in this space.

Trim Pizzazz

If drama is on the menu, dazzling silk panels with luscious trims create a dramatic focal point for the formal dining room. Note the rounded curve on each end of the French Poles shown below. Sew Elegant Window Designs of Searcy, AR created a room that exudes incredible wow power with simple hardware profiles.

Metallic Magic

Artefice Close up 1Brilliant Metallics band these stationary grommet panels shown with our hand crafted minimalist Artefice Collection. This is a stunning example of drapery hardware and fabric choices that complement each other in a major way. Drapery Expressions and Blinds in Colorado Springs, CO designed these knockout panels.

We are seeing a trend toward clear coated metal finishes across our lines. Helser Brothers has added  Clear Gloss and Matte Gloss finishes to our finish line-up for the purists in our industry. Just be aware that a clear coat finish will reflect a variety of base metals in a complete treatment, definitely NOT matchy-matchy.
