2020 is a year of progress and innovation. Trend predictions range from minimalism to maximalism, bold monochromes to mixing metals, patterns, and textures, and disparate styles blending together into an eclectic stew. Home automation and motorized hardware are surging in popularity with the Baby Boomer generation settling into their silver years and a fresh-faced generation of designers are starting their climb up the industry ladder.
Ever the innovators, we are introducing a slew of new hardware to keep up with these tumultuous times. The first wave includes new finials, accessories, traverse (both motorized and not), workroom components, and finishes.
YOLA & CALLISTO FINIALS
The Yola finial is available in both our Artigiani and Metro collection. Its simple yet striking cylindrical shape can be used with any of our painted finishes as well as matte black and brushed nickel, making it perfect for a variety of applications.
The Callisto finial is available in our Artigiani section, but can easily be used outdoors (with our Zinc undercoat) or even with wood. Its bumpy dented sides are perfect for organic, rustic, and Wabi Sabi themed designs, but it can add a bit of texture to any treatment.
HEXAGON WANDS
Our new Hexagon Aluminum Wands are perfect for those looking for a decorative baton that is lightweight and simple, yet sturdy and versatile. They feature a stylish hexagonal shape that comes in pre-cut lengths of 36”, 48”, 60”, and 72”, with the option to request a custom length up to 156” (13’). It comes pre-finished in a choice of 4 finishes: White, Black, Bronze, and Satin Nickel, but can also be customized with any of our 25 luxurious hand-painted finishes.
1” SQUARE RUFFINO TRAVERSE
Traverse rods are growing in popularity due to the relative ease of operation, clean lines, and a variety of customization options. Since we are striving to be that one-stop-shop for high-end drapery hardware, we will be introducing a variety of new traversing options, starting with our new 1″ Square Ruffino Traverse assemblies.
These assemblies come in 3 elegant plated finishes and offer both standard and Ripplefold options. The hidden mount square base brackets and square track rod are modern and compact, elegant enough to stand out but subdued enough to allow your drapery to shine.
1 1/8″ TRAVERSE FRENCH POLE
Another addition to our Ruffino traverse line was created by combining two of our most popular products: a traverse rod and a French Pole. Our 1 ⅛” Traverse French Pole features the built-in return arms and choice of decorative base plates a la French Pole with the functionality of a traverse rod.
Unlike some of our competitor’s versions, our Traverse French Pole track rod comes in a single piece so that the carriers travel around the bend for an optimal view and light control. Gliding master carriers with a pivoting head are available in all of the same carrier types as our other traverse rods, including a choice between standard or ripplefold. It is available in 3 different assemblies as well as a la carte, and can be painted in any of our luxurious hand-painted metal finishes.

MOTORIZED DEVENTER SYSTEM
The new Motorized Deventer system has been added to our repertoire in hopes to make motorized hardware more unique and attainable.
The Deventer boasts the same sleek lines as the Motorized Dresden (our newly renamed Motorized Decorative Traverse Rods) but at a more competitive price point and featuring 2 new finishes (Antique Bronze and Graphite).
We have also added a new finish to our Dresden assemblies, a gorgeous Brushed Gold, to increase your design options. See ‘Finishes’ below for more information.
WORKROOM SUPPLIES
We have added a clear option for our 1″ Snap Tape in the a la carte traverse components. It has the same measurements and functionality as our white option but is made with translucent tape. It is ideal for sheers or any treatments where the tape needs to be hidden.
We are always looking for ways to make our clients’ jobs easier and the Easyflex hook system is one of the easiest options for matching pleats and patterns with ripplefold. We now have increased its usefulness by adding a new Easyflex Buttmaster Carrier specifically designed to work with the Easyflex hooks and tape.
NEW FINISHES
You’ve asked for it and we have provided: 4 new finishes, 3 for our motorized hardware and 1 for our painted wood and iron lines.
Antique Bronze
Used on our new Motorized Deventer collection, this deep, satiny bronze will look right at home in designs that want that vintage look with the effortless convenience of top tier motorized hardware.
Graphite
Used on our new Motorized Deventer collection, this dark, smokey grey is right at home in minimalist and professional settings. When paired with the sleek lines of the Deventer rod, Graphite will make any office look like the boss’s.
Brushed Gold
Added to our Motorized Dresden collection, this subdued gold is the ideal shade to go with nearly anything. It isn’t loud or brash but stands out enough to be noticed and appreciated.
Coronado Créme
This satiny, creamy white gold evokes thoughts of expensive jewelry, delicious desserts, and white sand beaches. It can be applied to any of our Iron hardware (excluding Catalina) as well as wood hardware and our Ruffino traverse rods.
and finally…
As the new comes in, the old must go. Due to a lack of interest (and certain paints), two wood finishes will be discontinued as of March 2020. This includes W-075 Aged Florentine and W-079 Orleans Gold. They will surely be missed.
