As the days tick down to the Custom Workroom Conference (CWC) 2024, it’s hard to contain our excitement! This year’s conference in Warwick, Rhode Island, promises to be the most spectacular yet. But before we dive into what’s in store for 2024, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the incredible moments Helser Brothers has shared with the CWC family over the years.
CWC 2018:
2018 was the year Helser Brothers set the tone for future events. The atmosphere was electric as professionals from the custom soft furnishings and window treatments industry gathered, proving once again that when this group comes together, it’s magic.
The First-Ever Stitch Rally
One of the highlights? The first-ever Stitch Rally, a partnership between Helser Brothers, Sloan Machinery, and the Workroom Marketplace. This “rally-style sewing race” was nothing short of epic. Industry titans raced to showcase their talents.
And who could forget the WCAA and ROWLEY costume party? An ‘80s-themed extravaganza featuring rocker chicks, Cindy Lauper and Madonna lookalikes, mullets galore, and even a giant Rubik’s Cube dancing through the night! Helser Brothers showed up as Run DMC, complete with a live performance of “Walk This Way” that had the crowd cheering. It was a night filled with laughter and unforgettable memories.
CWC 2019:
In 2019, we headed to Concord, North Carolina, with even higher expectations. The sense of community and inclusivity that defines the drapery workroom industry was on full display. This conference highlighted how professionals in this field support each other, share knowledge, and succeed together—just like true friends should.
Once again, the Stitch Rally returned, and The Workroom Marketplace and Sloan Machinery generously donated materials for some quality tracks and sewing machines. It was another year of excitement, skill, and friendly competition, reminding us why we love the workroom community.
CWC 2023:
Last year, we decided to up the ante with a casino-themed. Attendees tried their luck at blackjack and roulette, with raffle tickets given out for a chance to win a $1,000 showroom makeover, which went to the Thread Needle Designs!
We even heard from some customers who almost spent their “Helser Bucks” at local stores because they looked so much like real money. Just a reminder—Helser Bucks are only valid for Helser Brothers hardware! 😅

This year, we’re hosting a Cirque du Soleil-inspired party on September 23rd that you won’t want to miss. The entertainment will include acrobats, flow dancers, magicians, stilt walkers, and a DJ spinning tunes while you connect with fellow workroom professionals.
