What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Therefore, if you are uploading an image on our website, we highly recommend you to remove EXIF data from your images for your own privacy concerns. Your information and addresses

When you use our e-commerce platform we will collect your personal information such as Name, Address, Billing Details etc. This information is required to process your orders and for shipping purposes. Your address information is not shared with any third-parties. We do share your name and contact details but only if you give your consent during checkout process and subscribe to our newsletter.

We also monitor live traffic coming to our website to improve our website security. We are using third-party service, WordFence, for this and it collects your IP, browser details etc. to identify genuine users. You can read more about it here.

Feedback Form(s)

As we want to give our customers a great online experience we periodically place feedback forms on our website. We might ask for your personal information such as your name and contact details but that information is not shared with third-parties, Your feedback is only used to improve our website and contact details are only used if you need to communicate.

Cookies

In this instance, we use cookies to fill in your details, for you, the next time you use our comment form. An important thing to note here is that we don’t use this information to monitor individual visitors but to differentiate genuine visitors from others.

Embedded content from other websites

Although we don’t usually use embedded content on our website our articles or user comments may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We use Google Analytics to understand our visitors. Who we share your data with

MailChimp

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
